I enjoyed the music and it's a classic game; the crab + future thing was a nice twist.
Couple of issues i had - controls seemed fairly unresponsive at times (e.g. sometimes left/right works in the air, sometimes it doesn't). Also it lagged a fair bit, even on low quality. I'm on a brand new macbook pro so i wouldn't expect flash to lag at all, but yea, it did.
Also i think i may have glitched it as i managed to land on top of the spaceship and then fly over into abyss, feature???
Otherwise it was a fair time waster, nj.
Really enjoyed it
Good music, nice theme, good fun!
Please leave the scoreboard in, i played for like an hour non-stop trying to get 298 (which is probably the highest possible score). I managed to get 297 a couple of times having made a mistake from going too quick - my fastest completion was 37 seconds. Pretty sure i could have got 298 if i continued trying.
BUT the first time around was the best, obviously, when i didn't know the answers. Perhaps you could add bonus points for completing on the 'Master' setting, and you could randomize the order of the paintings to make it trickier.
Also the music was really good, did i mention that? :]
a game for me
what i like to see in a game is the trimming of bush
At the beginning there were so many stat screens i actually thought that was the game, i clicked continue the story like 20 times until it finally finished. Then i entered a battle in the first cave and bam it takes about five minutes to kill one guy. Not good guys!
Far too laggy, otherwise looked like it could be quite good. This laptop isn't that bad so really there's no excuse for it being so slow. Also in the house where you first find the orbs, i fell off a plank, it fell on my head and pushed me through the floor into endless nothing, pretty sure that's a glitch?
Nice graphics but the game was rubbish. Think: 'Would i show a friend this?' no, because it sucks and they'd think you were a douche for wasting their time.
Nice graphics and sound but very boring. Also i got stuck between a house and a wall (i.e. inside of it) at which point i couldn't be bothered to start again.
Generic side scroller
Pretty boring, nice graphics but apart from that it has little to no variety and nothing new, not to mention it gets painfully slow in parts even on the lowest quality. Madness interactive is a thousand times better!
Graphics were nice and the game was pretty smooth but other than that it wasn't great.
1. Too hard... seriously... i couldn't beat level 2 so i got bored and quit
2. Not enough variety in turrets
3. Mines / ranges are useless and farms not much better
4. Clicking a turret shouldn't automatically sell it, i kept accidently clicking on turrets for it to remove my defences
In response to your response to my previous review, i have actually made some good work of my own, and i have a lot more lying around on my computer that i could easily slap a menu on and submit to NG like you're doing yourself. Perhaps my review was overly harsh but it still stands that you should properly finish a game before submitting, especially someone of your "stature". Then again, i should have reviewed it properly as well, so i will. You can drive though trees, rocks etc and all it does is slow you down. The hit detection is off. It's been done many times before. The graphics were fairly nice however and the isometric view was well made. But overall the point of a game is to be entertaining rather than look amazing, and the game wasn't exactly good was it.
On to this game, its a "new" take on an old idea. Cool addins like inverted gravity, fuel, bombs altering the terrain, shields etc add to the depth as well as some smooth physics going on which made it a pretty nice game. Overall it's worth playing once but after that i wouldn't bother.
Thanks for the updated review, I felt it was personal attack that was unjustified. A reasonable review was all I was after. Cheers.
